What is Calisthenics?
As you know, I’m a former US Navy SEAL. One of the main ways that we build our bodies in SEAL training is through something called calisthenics. Calisthenics originated in ancient Greece, and is a type of exercise that relies on use of your own body weight. These routines use little or no equipment to enhance strength, stability, and cardiovascular fitness. For example, you can do basic things like sissy squats, push ups, or handstands.
There is an endless number of exercises that you can do. And, there are some really amazing people on YouTube that have calisthenic routines that you can be doing in the quiet of your own home. It’s also a great way to stay active while traveling and during the holidays, when you don’t have time to go to your gym. Try it out today!
